General Interface Commands
Use the following keyboard shortcuts to control common functions in Final Cut Pro.
Keyboard shortcut | Function |

  Command-O | Open a file. |
  Command-Shift-N | Create a new project. |
| Command-N | Create a new sequence. |
 Command-S | Save the project. |
 Command-Option-S | Save all projects. |
 Command-Z | Undo the last command. |
| Command-Shift-Z | Redo the last command. |
 Command-A | Select all. |
| Command-Shift-A | Deselect all. |
 Command-C | Copy the selected item. |
 Command-X | Cut the selected item (and paste it to the Clipboard). |
 Shift-V | Paste the cut or copied item as an insert edit. |
| Command-V | Paste the cut or copied item as an overwrite edit. |
 Option-D | Duplicate the selected item. |
  Control-M | Print to video. |
 Option-Q | Open the User Preferences window. |
 Command-1 | Make the Viewer window active. |
 Command-2 | Make the Canvas window active. |
 Command-3 | Make the Timeline window active. |
 Command-4 | Make the Browser window active. |
 Command-Shift-E | Open the selected item(s) in the Share window. |
