Changing the Order of Effects

Changing the order of effects can radically change the sound of the region or mix being processed. Feeding a region through a reverb → chorus → delay chain delivers very different tonal results to feeding the same region through a delay → chorus → reverb, even when identical settings are used for all three effects. This difference in tone is due to particular frequencies in your region being emphasized/de-emphasized by each effect, and then magnified or suppressed, by the ensuing processes.

To change the effects order in the Plug-Ins lists
  • Drag the effect name up or down to the desired list position.

You can save chains of effects that you have set up in the Plug-Ins list window. You can also load previously saved effect chains.

  1. Click the Plug-in Chain pop-up menu in either Plug-Ins list, and choose Save Plug-in Chain.

  2. Type a setting name in the dialog, and click Save.

Note: It is recommended that you use the default folder structure for plug-in chain files.
